Dodge Dakota Quad Cab

The Dodge Dakota Quad Cab is a mid-size pickup truck from DaimlerChrysler's Dodge brand, first introduced in 1987 alongside the redesigned Dodge Ram 50. It has continually been sized above the compact pickups (e.g. Ford Ranger, Chevrolet S-10) and below the full-sized pickups (e.g. Ford F-150, Chevrolet Silverado) and Dodge's own Ram. It features body-on-frame construction and a leaf spring/live axle rear end, and has historically been the only midsize pickup to offer an optional V8 engine. It was even nominated for the North American Truck of the Year award for 2000. The most recent generation of the Dakota was released in 2005. This model shares its platform with the new Dodge Durango SUV, and features a new 3.7 in longer and 2.7 in wider build, as well as a new front and rear suspension and rack-and-pinion steering. Powering the newest generation of the Dakota are one V6 and two V8 engine options, the standard engine being a 3.7 L PowerTech V6. The Dakota is built at Warren Truck Assembly in Warren, Michigan.
