The Dodge EPIC Concept was a concept car introduced by DaimlerChrysler under its Dodge marque at the 1992 North American International Auto Show. The acronym EPIC stands for Electric Power Inter-urban Commuter and was the first of its kind in the minivan segment. Engine and Design The vehicle was powered by a fuel efficient I4 engine mated to a four-gear automatic transmission, with the added advantage of an emission-free powertrain. The powertrain was supported by nickel iron batteries that gave it the ability to travel up to 120 miles in one charge. Its futuristic design featured an oval-shaped body, with no other minivan utilizing it at the time.
