Dodge Magnum SRT8 2006 posters

Dodge Magnum SRT8

The Dodge Magnum was revived in 2004 as a station wagon based off the Chrysler LX platform, which was the company's first wagon model since the discontinuation of the Dodge Colt wagon in 1991. It was quite a bit smaller than its predecessor, the Chevrolet Caprice/Buick Roadmaster Estate wagons, and its interior dimensions are akin to the more modern Ford Taurus wagon. Essentially, the Magnum is a wagon version of the Chrysler 300, with some minor cosmetic changes. This model features four engine options: the SE has a 190 HP 2.7 L LH V6, the SXT holds a 250 HP 3.5 L V6, the RT includes a 5.7 L Hemi V8, and the SRT-8 features a 425 HP 6.1 L Hemi engine. The SXT and RT models were made available with all-wheel drive in 2005. The AWD version comes with a 5-speed automatic transmission from Mercedes-Benz, while all other models are clad with a four-speed automatic. The Magnum has proved to be a major success for the company, selling much better than its counterpart, the Dodge Intrepid. This popularity has lead to the creation of the police variant, which will be sold primarily to law enforcement, emergency agencies, and government agencies. This specific model will possess the SXT's V6 as a base motor and the Hemi as an option, with features including a column-mounted shifter, bulletproof glass partitions, and deactivated interior locks and windows. It's built in Brampton, Ontario, Canada and was included on Car and Driver's Ten Best list for 2005.
