Dodge Ram SRT10 2002 posters

Dodge Ram SRT10

The third-generation Ram was unveiled in 2001 at the Chicago Auto Show, and released for the 2002 and 2003 model years. This upgrade included a fresh frame, suspension, powertrains, interiors, and sheet metal. The crew cab models for this generation were Quad Cab trucks that had normal rear doors. The 4x4 light trucks changed to an independent front suspension, while the 2500 and 3500 series kept a live axle setup for durability. This redesign propelled sales of the Ram; 400,000 were sold during 2001-2002, and close to 450,000 were sold during 2002-2003, a historic high for the Ram. At the same time, sales of the Ford and GM trucks rose to the 900,000 range. However, the Ram couldn't keep up with the F-150 in 2004, because Dodge did not manufacture a crew cab model. 2006 Facelift In 2006, the Dodge Ram was updated with new features. Noteworthy additions included the Mega Cab, which came with a 6.25-foot cargo box and increased cab space. It also offered a full-screen mapping in-dash navigation system, Bluetooth U Connect, a revised steering wheel, SIRIUS Satellite Radio, and a rear seat DVD entertainment system. Unfortunately, the SRT model, with the 8.3L V10 engine that was adopted from the Dodge Viper SRT/10, was retired after the 2006 model year.
