Dodge SRT4

The Dodge Neon SRT-4 was a sport compact car produced by Dodge from 2003 to 2005. Designed by DaimlerChrysler's in-house Performance Vehicle Operations (PVO) tuner group (later renamed Street and Racing Technology, or SRT), the car was characterized by its 4-cylinder turbocharged engine. ACR (American Club Racing) and Commemorative Edition versions were subsequently unveiled. The idea for the Dodge SRT-4 first arose in 1998, when Tom Gale, then Executive Vice President of Chrysler Product Development and Design, attended the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas. Inspired by the varied performance features of sport compact cars at the event, Gale formed a team of Chrysler personnel with a passion and knowledge of the Dodge Neon to follow through with his vision for a showroom-ready performance vehicle. The culmination of this project was the 2000 Neon SRT, unveiled a mere four months later. Its 2.0 L 16-valve four-cylinder was matched with a 45-cubic-inch Eaton supercharger, capable of producing 208 hp (155 kW) and 180 lb·ft (240 N·m) of torque at the flywheel running at 11 psi (0.76 bar) of boost. According to Sport Compact Car magazine's test of the car in Feb. 2001, the engine delivered 179 hp (133 kW) and 149 lb·ft (202 N·m) torque at the wheels.
