Dodge Stratus RT Coupe

The Stratus nameplate was initially applied to two separate vehicles; a sedan and a coupe. Dodge's former coupe, the Avenger, had been discontinued and the two vehicles were advertised together as they shared some exterior elements. The sedan was based on the Chrysler JA platform while the coupe was based on the Mitsubishi Eclipse. At the end of 2005, the Stratus coupe was discontinued and the Stratus sedan stayed up in production until May 2006. In Mexico however, the coupe version of the Stratus had been given a turbocharged variant called the Stratus R/T. This engine saw power improvements in 2001, producing 215 hp, and was further upgraded in 2004 to 225 hp at 5200 rpm accompanied by 235 ft·lbf (319 N·m) of torque at 4200 rpm. This more powerful engine would eventually be used in the United States' Dodge SRT-4. The Stratus R/T could easily be identified by its "High Output" badge.
