The latest special-edition model of the 2010 Dodge Viper SRT10 is here! Dodge has unveiled the Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR-X, a turn-key, non-street legal race car which is set to make its on-track appearance in the summer of 2010. According to Ralph Gilles, President and CEO of the Dodge Brand, “The Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR-X takes the performance attributes of Viper to an even higher level for a wide range of drivers starting with the grassroots racer all the way up to the professional.” This project has been made possible due to the hard work and dedication of the SRT team, and those in the Viper Nation.
The Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR-X is the perfect combination of the record-setting, street-legal Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR (American Club Racer) and the safety equipment of the championship-winning Viper Competition Coupe. The SRT-developed 8.4-liter V10 produces a whopping 640 horsepower (40 more than the production model), and is equipped with factory headers and a low-restriction exhaust system. The suspension has been specifically tuned and upgraded for on-track usage, while the weight has also been lightened by a full 160 pounds compared to the standard production Viper. Some additional aerodynamic improvements have also been made, providing greater downforce and enhancing the stability and grip in high-speed cornering.
