Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR-X
The Dodge Brand unveiled a special-edition model of the 2010 Dodge Viper SRT10 - the Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR-X. This turn-key, non-street legal racecar is set to make its on-track debut in the summer of 2010. According to Ralph Gilles, President and CEO of the Dodge Brand, "The Viper SRT10 ACR-X takes the performance attributes of Viper to an even higher level, ranging from grassroots racers to professionals." The ACR-X is the combination of the performance of the record-breaking, street-legal Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR (American Club Racer) and the safety features of championship-winning Viper Competition Coupe. It is powered by an 8.4-liter V10 engine which produces 640 horsepower, 40 more than the production model. The suspension has been enhanced for track racing, and the car has been lightened by 160 pounds. Additionally, aerodynamic improvements have been made to increase downforce and improve high-speed cornering.
