EDAG is a German engineering and design company with the headquarters in Fulda. It has more than 4000 employees and 32 offices around the world. It deals with the creation of new products, development of the production systems, aviation and spaceflight as well as automobile industry. more
The company was created in 1969 by Horst Eckard. EDAG owns 49% of ELAN-AUSY, a company, which provides such services for the aerospace industry as design, project management, testing, technical support and consulting.
EDAG deals with car design as well. It’s best known for its concept cars EDAG Biwak, EDAG Pontiac Solstice Hardtop and EDAG Show Car No.8. It also designed EDAG Light Car - Open Source, an electric car with wheel hub motors, powered with the help of lithium iron phosphate technology.
In addition, the company worked at the application of 3D-printing together with Fraunhofer, Laser Zentrum Nord and DMRC Paderborn.
