Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano China

Ferrari recently unveiled a unique one-off version of its 599 GTB Fiorano China Limited Edition for a special Gala Auction Event in Beijing on November 3rd, 2009. This exclusive car follows the recent launch of Ferrari's 599 GTB Fiorano China Limited Edition series, which features two-tone Rosso Fuoco with silver roof and various Chinese design elements. The one-off 599 GTB Fiorano was created by renowned Chinese artist Lu Hao, and incorporates a special exterior finish inspired by Ge Kiln porcelain from the Song Dynasty. Lu Hao blended traditional designs with Ferrari's modern styling, creating an elegant 'cracked' glaze pattern with clearly defined cracks of varying depths. Ge Kiln porcelain is a valued Chinese treasure; the "cracked" glaze has an iridescent jade finish and is widely regarded as a symbol of true gentlemanliness. Marco Mattiacci, CEO of Ferrari Asia Pacific, commended the 599 GTB Fiorano China Limited Edition: "It is a terrific combination of Chinese artistry and Italian craftsmanship." The proceeds from the sale of this car will be put towards a sponsorship program to help young Chinese students pursue automotive engineering. This charitable event is just the latest of Ferrari's fundraising efforts in China since 2004; its donations amount to over €500,000 to numerous Chinese charities.
