The mid-front layout with the engine located behind the front axle and a combined gearbox and differential unit at the rear, keeps the centre of gravity as low and close to the back as possible. This allows for faster acceleration (0-100 km/h in 4.2 seconds), better stability, enhanced braking, and sharper handling. The ideal weight distribution (46% front and 54% rear) is further improved by an active damping system and the special CST stability and traction control system, both of which have been incorporated for the first time into a Ferrari model.
