Ferrari F60America
To commemorate Ferrari's 60th anniversary in North America, Maranello has resumed its usual practice from the 1950s and 60s to generate specifically limited edition, personalized cars. This extraordinary vehicle is the F60America, of which just ten units will be produced. This car is exactly what the American patrons have been dreaming of, with a V12 engine and open-top driving. On the occasion of the big celebration, it was revealed at the Beverly Hills City Hall.
Producing such a restricted edition pays homage to another renowned tradition. Similar to 1967's 275 GTS4 NART Spider, an open-top version of the 275 GTB4 requested by the distributor, the loyal entrepreneur Luigi Chinetti, for the US customers, the F60America will only carry ten cars.
Performance-wise, this car is equipped with the universally recognized Ferrari mid-mounted V12, enabling the F60America sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in an extremely speedy 3.1 seconds. The exterior is impressively muscular with customer-friendly dimensions. It is also meticulously crafted to prioritize aerodynamic solutions, matching the standards of Maranello's signature DNA. Its flank is characterized by an innovative "diapason" design concept. The front part captures the classic Ferrari emblem with chrome work and integrated air intakes for optimal braking. Two leather-trimmed roll hoops with a carbon-fiber-trimmed back portion from the cockpit to the rear brings more life to the shining tail.
The F60America comes with a removable fabric top good enough to assure sufficient comfort even at speeds of up to 120km/h. The interior has an asymetrical layout, with a stylish red design on the driver's side contrasting the black passenger's part, much like some classic Ferrari racing vehicles. The dashboard, door panels and tunnel area in the driver's area is covered with a composite material. To complete the picture, the F60America adopts the iconic North American Racing Team (NART) livery, with an exclusive 60th anniversary "Prancing Horse" badge on the side wheel arches and tunnel.
The ten copies of the exquisite F60America were soon sold, impressing the prestigious US collectors.
