Ferrari FXX Evolution

The FXX programme based on the prototype car launched by Ferrari in June 2005, is being extended to the 2008/2009 year. The latest version of the Ferrari FXX, currently the most advanced GT ever created by Maranello, has obtained an evolution package to improve its handling and performance as a result of Ferrari's collaboration with its Client Test Drivers and the support of Michael Schumacher. The FXXs that new package will have a new livery along with new rear wing profiles. The Ferrari FXX prototype does not serve any purpose for road use or any competition. The purpose of this R&D program is only to give a selected group of around 20 clients the opportunity to drive it on the track. Through the 16,500 kilometres of tests in 2006 and the 18,500 kilometres covered in 2007, the car was modified and improved in terms of aerodynamics, running gear, and electronics. The champion of seven Formula 1 World Championships, Michael Schumacher, had various occasions to join in the tests. The engineers at Maranello analyzed all the gathering information to develop a kit that would reduce the FXX's time round Fiorano to under 1'16", faster than the original 1'18". The 6262 cc V12 engine has an output of 860 hp at 9500 rpm, shorter gearshifting times of 60 ms, and the gear ratio is optimized to make the most of the additional 1000 rpm.
