Ferrari FXX K
The Ferrari FXX K research and development programme made its world debut at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi. This incredible laboratory-car is based on the Maranello's first hybrid model and will appear at various tracks around the world from next year. The 'K' in its title is a nod to the Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS) it adopts to reach unparalleled performances on the track.
The Ferrari FXX K is not subject to any homologation or racing regulations so it won't be used in any competitions. It was designed to be uncompromising and provide users with some of the most innovative and thrilling driving experiences ever. A few key figures demonstrate its impressive power: it boasts a total output of 1050 cv (860 cv from the V12 engine and 190 from the electric motor) and produces a maximum torque of over 900 Nm.
To optimise its performance, the 6262 cc V12 engine has been improved, with new camshafts, modified valve train, modified intake manifolds with a special type of polishing treatment, and an edited exhaust system without silencers. The HY-KERS system is specifically tailored for a maximum performance driving experience. The driver can set the function logics from the Manettino depending on the four available settings: Qualify, Long Run, Manual Boost, and Fast Charge.
