Ferrari P540 Superfast Aperta

This one-off P540 Superfast Aperta was created for an American client who wanted a modern, unique reinterpretation of the gold-coloured Ferrari that appears in Federico Fellini's 1968 film, "Toby Dammit". Edward Walson, the proud owner of this exemplary car, was inspired upon watching the film and set out to make his dream of designing a sports car come true. Developed with the help of Ferrari's "Special Projects" programme, this car is a special creation based on the 599 GTB Fiorano—and is fully road legal within existing international safety and homologation requirements. Pininfarina was brought in to design the car, and it only took 14 months to render the sketches and design the complete car. Upon receiving the car, Edward Walson excitedly remarked that it was the most special Christmas gift of his life. Curiosity This special Ferrari P540 Superfast Aperta’s colour was inspired by the film “Toby Dammit”, one of the three episodes of the movie “Histoires Extraordinaires” made in 1968 based on stories by Edgar Allan Poe. “Toby Dammit” was directed by Federico Fellini, with Terence Stamp Salvo Randone and Milena Vukotic. The other two episodes, “Metzengerstein” and “William Wilson”, were directed by Roger Vadim and Louis Malle. Technical specifications
