The Fiat 132 was a large family car that was introduced as a replacement for the Fiat 125 in 1972. It was produced by the Italian automobile company Fiat up until 1981. The 132 was similar to the Fiat 130, but featured twin-cam engines as standard. An update of the Fiat 132, the Fiat Argenta, was released in 1981, and remained in production until 1985. Fiat 132 (1972-1981) The Fiat 132 received a major facelift in 1977, and with the discontinuation of the 130, it became the most high-end model in the Fiat range. During this update, plastic ‘safety’ bumpers were added. Fiat Argenta (1981-1985) In 1981, the Fiat 132 was given a second facelift, alongside its new name, the Fiat Argenta. This update included new trim, rearview mirrors, and square headlights. The Argenta was again face-lifted in 1983, and ended production in 1985.
