Fiat 2300 Saloon
The Fiat 2300 Saloon is a distinguished model of car which was produced by Italian automotive manufacturer Fiat between 1961 and 1969. It is well known for being the first Fiat model to become available with a fully automatic gearbox, which replaced the Saxomat clutch as an optional extra in 1966. The 2300 and 2300S Coupé, which first appeared in 1961, are both elegant and luxurious models; most 2300s boasted a four-speed all-synchromesh gearbox whereas the 2300S coupés had a powerful 2.3 litre six cylinder engine, complete with twin-carbs. Its grand touring style and panache earned it the nickname of "poor man's Ferrari".
