Fiat 500 Abarth R3T

The newest model from Abarth, the Fiat 500 Abarth R3T, made its debut at the 51st Sanremo Rally. To further celebrate the new car, Abarth will create a promotional rally trophy in 2010 to accompany the two currently planned more race events using the Fiat 500 Abarth Assetto Corse. This isn't the first time Abarth has created a promotional trophy race. In 1977 the first ever Autobianchi A112 Abarth Championship was held, and other trophies were issued for the Fiat Uno, Uno Turbo, Cinquecento, Seicento, Punto Kit and Super 1600, Stilo, and Panda Kit. Group R3T is the type approval given to the Fiat 500 Abarth rally turbocharged car, with a maximum capacity of 1600 cm3. The standard for a cost-effective yet powerful performance perfect for private drivers and young racers. The Fiat 500 Abarth's power unit is 1368 cm3 and comes with a Garret GT 1446 fixed geometry turbocharger plus 180 hp (132 kw) of power at 5500 rpm. The specifics include a sequential transmission, a multiplate self-locking differential, a twin-plate clutch, and special half-axles. Suspension is also customizable with adjustable shock absorbers, features to alter the ground clearance, caster, and camber angles, seven-inch by seventeen-inch OZ asphalt rims with nineteen/sixty-two- seventeen tires, Brembo brakes, a handbrake with hydraulics and a specially-welded roll-bar. As required by the regulations, the Fiat 500 Abarth R3T has a weight of 1080 kg unladen. Not only is the exterior of the Fiat 500 Abarth modern renditions of traditional Abarth livery, but the interior is also finely-crafted with instruments created to make a statement.
