The iconic 1957 Fiat 500 is the source of inspiration behind the Fiat 500C, first unveiled to the world at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show. As with the traditional Fiat brand, this model offers cutting-edge mechanical design, engine power, and comfort levels. This legacy of providing segment firsts to the public will continue with the launch of the 500C in Italy starting on July 4th, 2009 - two years after the launch of the original 500.
In keeping with the Fiat open-source approach, the design team interacted with the Fiat 500 community, building on feedback from passionate fans to create a model that is "a car for the people, by the people". Retaining the four comfortable seats and generous boot space of the saloon version, the 500C also offers features such as an easily accessible boot even when the soft top is open thanks to a parallelogram hinge system.
