Fiat Croma

The "Type Four" chassis of the original Fiat Croma was developed in cooperation with several companies, and the model would be shared among Saab 9000, Lancia Thema and Alfa Romeo 164. Known for its five-door hatchback design created by Giorgetto Giugiaro, the Croma was branded as a midsize family car and was intended to replace the Fiat Argenta. The Croma was highly configurable with a comprehensive range of petrol and Diesel engines. An array of petrol engines were available from the Fiat DOHC family, ranging from 1585 cc and 83 PS (61 kW) to 1995 cc and 90 PS (66 kW). Additionally, two 2.0 L fuel injected options were made available, a 120 PS (88 kW) model and another turbocharged intercooled version giving 153 PS (113 kW). On the other hand, diesel engines included Fiat's 1.9 L with turbocharger and direct injection with 92 PS (68 kW) and the 2499 cc one provided by VM Motori, with a normally aspirated variant of 75 PS (55 kW) and a turbocharged variant of 115 PS (85 kW), which replaced the 2446 cc option with 100 PS (74 kW). In 1996, production of the Fiat Croma model ceased and Fiat instead opted to focus on the Bravo/Brava-based Fiat Marea model, replacing the Tempra and Croma sedans.
