Fiat Panda Multi Eco Concept is a highly successful car produced by the financially troubled Fiat. Winning the European Car of the Year award in 2004, the 7th generation Panda was released at the turn of the millennium to replace the Seicento and the old Panda model. The high-bodied car takes clear styling cues from mini MPVs and mini SUVs, with its taillights resembling those of much larger cars manufactured by Volvo.
The 7th generation Panda includes an option for split rear seats, making it fit for four. All models are also equipped with advanced features such as stability control, ABS, EBD, at least two front airbags, power steering, and manual climate control, with front electric windows, central door locking and cassette/CD player options. Furthermore, the gear-lever is conveniently located on the central dashboard.
The 7th generation Panda sold half a million units by October 2005, selling particularly well in Italy where it is seen as a spiritual successor to the Fiat 500. The 500,000th new Panda was built in October 2005, a light blue Panda Emotions with the 1.3 L diesel engine.
Editions of the 7th generation Panda include the Actual and the Emotion, which both have black bumpers and lack electric windows and full-size spare wheel on the former. The Active which was introduced in May 2005, features body-coloured front bumpers, electric windows, and central door locking as standard. Meanwhile, the Active Plus edition is only slightly better equipped with a cassette/CD player as its primary feature.
