Fiat Tempra SW

The Fiat Tempra was a family car produced by the Italian manufacturer Fiat between 1990 and 1995. Developed alongside the Alfa Romeo 155 and Lancia Dedra on the Fiat Tipo platform, the four-door saloon, four-door estate and two-door saloon (available only in Brazil) were a budget alternative to family cars such as the Opel Vectra, Peugeot 405 and Ford Sierra. In 1991, the 2.0ie model received a four-speed automatic transmission with switchable modes, whilst the 2.0ie station wagon was available with a four-wheel drive system complete with ventilated discs at the front and solid discs at the back, with ABS also featured. The 1993 revision brought a new grille and improved passive safety, including side-impact bars and a strengthened floorpan and bulkhead. The following year saw changes to the model naming system, as well as the introduction of a multi-point fuel-injected 1.6L SOHC engine with 90 bhp. Interior trim and equipment were also upgraded, and a driver's side airbag and ABS added to some models. The Tempra saw it’s last production run in 1995 when it was discontinued and replaced by the Fiat Marea, based on the Fiat Bravo platform. Engines available for the Tempra ranged from the 1.4L (1372cc) SOHC I4 with 76 bhp or, from 1992, 69 bhp with fuel injection and catalytic converter, to the 2.0L (1995cc) SOHC diesel I4 with 113 bhp, with catalytic converter and fuel injection. Other motors included a 1.6L (1581cc) SOHC I4 with 84 bhp or 77 bhp with fuel injection and catalytic converter; a 1.8L (1756cc) DOHC with 109 bhp or, from 1992, 105 bhp with fuel injection and catalytic converter; a 1.9L (1929cc) SOHC diesel I4 at 65 bhp; a 1.9L (1929cc) SOHC turbodiesel I4 and a 1.9L (1929cc) SOHC turbodiesel I4 (90 bhp, rated at 80 bhp with EGR).
