Fiat Ulysse

The Fiat Ulysse is one of the "Eurovans," a group of nearly identical large MPVs manufactured at the Sevel Nord factory in France, near Valenciennes. This joint venture of PSA and Fiat also produces the Citroën Evasion (Synergie), Lancia Zeta and Peugeot 806, trading under different names. The first generation of eurovans was sold, but it has been superseded by a second generation in 2002. These models are more technically related to PSA than Fiat vehicles, as PSA governs the Sevel Nord venture. The eurovans are distinguished mainly by visual differences, such as new models for the 806 (807), Citroën C8, and Lancia Phedra (from the Greek mythological figure). They share a common floorpan, wheelbase, suspension, and body structure with the Sevel light commercial vans and feature a modern-looking dashboard with centrally mounted gauges. All eurovans feature an increased size, with the Fiat and Lancia being slightly wider than the PSA alternatives, and the Phedra being longer than the rest. Engines for the eurovans involve different versions of the PSA EW/DW, paired with either 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmissions. Top-of-the-line models feature the PSA ES V6. All diesels are PSA HDIs, though billed as JTDs by Fiat.
