Fisker Karma S Concept
Fisker Automotive, the new American car maker of premium eco-friendly automobiles, recently revealed the Fisker Karma S concept at the 2009 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS). The four-seater, plug-in hybrid hardtop cabriolet is designed to show that one can enjoy an amazing driving experience while also being environment-friendly.
The open-roof Fisker Karma S concept shares its aluminium space-frame body and clean Q-DRIVE® powertrain with the Fisker Karma sedan. It uses the Quantum Technologies-designed Q-DRIVE®, which can provide up to 50 emission-free miles under one charge of the lithium-ion battery pack and produce a maximum of 403hp from two electric motors. Additionally, the power-retractable hard top, previously unseen in Fisker cars, retracts into the trunk with ease. Its unique design language brings it in a league of its own.
"Our goal is to create a signature design language and legacy around the innovative Q-DRIVE® powertrain," said Fisker Automotive, Inc. CEO Henrik Fisker. "The Karma S is a further extension of Fisker Automotive's eco-responsible automobiles and also serves as a standard for our future products."
