Ford 4-Trac Concept

Ford Australia General Manager of Marketing, Rebecca Martin, shared that Ford's 4-Trac concept package has combined the brand's 'tough truck' DNA with features focused on practical use, lifestyle, and sporty aspects for Ford trucks of the future. She stated, “Our designers have taken the typical pick-up truck and given it a lot more sophistication, style and purpose. It meets the expectations of 'Built Ford Tough' with its off-road capability, rugged features, and durable aluminum surfaces. At the same time, people would be proud to drive this concept as transport for their active families on weekends and holidays.” The Ford 4-Trac concept was solely designed by Ford Asia Pacific Chief Designer, Paul Gibson, who was responsible for its unveiling at the Bangkok Auto Show in December 2005. With his team, he collaborates with Ford regional and national marketing specialists in 12 different countries within the region. The concept materialized upon extensive consumer insight research which provided information on what local customer truck owners need and want. Rebecca Martin pointed out, “Our research told us customers need and want pick-ups that are rugged for the workplace and stylish for the family. So, this is how we came up with the 4-Trac concept look.” This comes on the heels of other notable Ford Asia Pacific region concept vehicles, such as the Focus Concept sedan at Auto China 2004, the all-new Ford Focus, and the Equator concept SUV at the 2005 Tokyo Motor Show.
