Ford C-MAX Hybrid
At the 2011 North American International Auto Show, Ford unveiled two next-generation hybrid models including its first production plug-in hybrid electric vehicle - the Ford C-MAX Energi. This gives car buyers more options when looking for a high-mileage family-friendly vehicle. The C-MAX Hybrid and C-MAX Energi are both based on Ford's new C-MAX five-passenger multi-activity vehicle. They offer stylish bodies, a flexible interior, low emissions, and excellent fuel economy.
"These vehicles will be perfect for those who want to maximize their hybrid experience," said Nancy Gioia, Ford's director of Global Electrification. "Family-conscious individuals will be especially attracted to its versatile design."
The Ford C-MAX Hybrid is targeting fuel economy performance that surpasses the Fusion Hybrid, the most fuel-efficient sedan in America today. The Hybrid leverages Ford's globally-acclaimed powersplit architecture and advanced lithium-ion battery systems to switch to electric mode beyond 47 mph.
