Ford Mad Max Concept
Ford Australia and TopGear Australia magazine have designed two incredible new Mad Max Interceptors to celebrate the revival of the Mad Max action movie. It has been more than 30 years since its original debut, starring Mel Gibson and a jet black Ford XB coupe-based Interceptor. Ford Australia's Chris Svensson and team from the Research Centre crafted several projects for the magazine, and two have been chosen to feature in the April issue. Right off the bat, these concepts bring body design, power sources, and weaponry to a whole new level.
To make it even more thrilling, TopGear Magazine Australia readers will be able to vote on which design Ford should take to the next level. The winning car will be turned into a clay model before a scale version is expected to be revealed later this year.
The designs, by Nima Nourian and Simon Brook, feature an industrial-strength taser mounted to the bonnet for zapping enemies off the road and wheels with extendable spikes for shredding enemy vehicles. Nourian's design was inspired by the 1970s Interceptor, taking it to the future, and Brook's car took cues from the current FG Falcon while slipping into Armageddon-land and adding touches of the retro Interceptor.
