Ford C-MAX Hybrid
Ford has just released two new highly efficient hybrid vehicles at the 2011 North American International Auto Show – the first being the Ford C-MAX Energi plug-in hybrid. Along with the C-MAX Hybrid, both models are based on the five-passenger multi-activity vehicle, providing consumers with greater selection, flexibility and trendy designs with excellent fuel economy. Both models are furnished with a global C-car platform, sophisticated powersplit architecture, modern driver information technologies and state-of-the-art lithium-ion battery systems.
"C-MAX Energi and C-MAX Hybrid will be ideal for those seeking to get the most out of the hybrid car experience," according to Nancy Gioia, Ford director of Global Electrification. "Due to the versatile interior, these cars will be a great fit for eco-conscious customers who have lots of people to transport."
Targeted to offer better fuel economy than the Honda Fusion Hybrid which has the best mpg of all the American sedans with 41 mpg, the C-MAX Hybrid is equipped with the cutting-edge powersplit architecture that is used in Ford's current hybrids. Additionally, the hybrid is able to travel above 47 mph on electric mode, as opposed to 37 mph from the Fusion Hybrid.
