Ford Escape

The latest Ford Escape is set to bring a sports-inspired design and more versatility and cargo capacity than the current model. "Escape's athletic good looks are no accident," says Martin Smith, Design executive director of Europe, Asia Pacific and Africa. "We wanted to create the impression of an athlete like a runner or swimmer in the new body - right down to the defined muscles that convey movement and energy." Function meets form as the sleeker design allows for up to 68.1 cubic feet of cargo space behind the first row and 34.3 cubic feet behind the second row. In addition, the Ford Escape will also be slightly longer than the current model for added luggage space. The seats have also been improved to provide more convenience for the customer. Ford's latest seats lose weight while adding two-way power recline and two-way power lumbar support in addition to the familiar six-way adjustability. Those looking for a sporty look can also opt for the sport seat, with higher bolsters and a distinct sew style. Moreover, the front head restraint now offers four-way adjustability for the first time. For even more convenience, the head restraints and rear seats have been upgraded to allow for easy folding and are made from soy-based foam. The Ford Escape will be sold as the Ford Escape in North America and will launch later wearing a Kuga badge in markets around the world.
