Ford Expedition 2003 posters

Ford Expedition

The Ford Expedition is a full-size SUV built by the Ford Motor Company. It was first introduced in 1997 and has been redesigned twice - once for 2003 and again for 2007. It sits between the lighter Ford Explorer and the now discontinued Ford Excursion. This SUV comes with either seven or nine passenger seating depending on the version, and a range of V8 engines. Its similarity to the Lincoln Navigator was heightened for 2004 with the introduction of the Limited trim line. It has been very popular with consumers, as reflected by having sold over one million Expeditions since 2004 due to its family-friendly interior, cargo space and impressive towing capacity. Ford also produces a law enforcement version which is known as the Special Service Vehicle. All Expeditions are built in Wayne, Michigan. 2003-2006 The 2003 Expedition saw the Ford U platform being used which allowed it to tow up to 8,300 lb (3,800 kg) with increased comfort in the ride. It also featured newly popular features such as power folding third-row seats and turn-signal mirror lights. In 2005, the base 4.6 L V8 engine was dropped to make room for the 5.4 L V8 which had been updated with 24-valve technology. Further safety features such as AdvanceTrac® with Roll Stability Control™ were also made available as optional extras. Engines:
+ 2003-2005 4.6 L V8, 232 hp (173 kW)
+ 2003-2005 5.4 L V8, 260 hp (194 kW)
+ 2005-2006 5.4 L 24-valve V8, 300 hp (223 kW)
