Ford F150 Harley Davidson

The eleventh generation F-150, which uses the P2 platform, was first presented by Ford at the North American International Auto Show in January 2003. It was designed between 1999 and January 2000 by Tyler Blake and Patrick Schiavone and went through improvements after production design was frozen in August 2000. It features a 'Daylight Door' Kenworth style and the same Super Duty-like appearance, dipping towards the front of the doors. Initially, it was available to the public with either the 4.6 L Triton V8 engine or the new 3-valve 5.4 L 3VTriton V8 engine and four-speed automatic transmission. Additionally, in 2005 the 4.2 L Essex V6 engine and manual transmission were added as standard equipment to the base models. In December 2005, the 3-valve 5.4 L Triton V8 flex-fuel version was introduced, and a SuperCrew model with the 6.5' box became available. The 2006-2008 F-150s are distinguished from the 2004-2005 models with their circular fog lamps, smaller bumper vent and updated front bumper. Furthermore, improved front seats with an enhanced side bolstering and new 20" wheels were added. The XLT trim had the XLT Chrome Package, known as the XTR in Canada, and a navigation system was added as an option for the Lariat and King Ranch trims. The FX4 further had a Luxury package which made it an alternative trim to the Lariat. The Harley-Davidson special edition was launched for 2006 and was available in two or four-wheel-drive. Other mid-cycle refresh improvements included larger five-inch running boards, traction assist on 4x2 V8 models, and a new 'Smokestone Clearcoat Metallic' paint on the Lariat. For 2007, the FX2 Sport package (two-wheel-drive with an appearance package) and SuperCrew in the Harley-Davidson trim were introduced. Ford claims that a properly equipped 2007 F-150 can tow up to 11,000 lb (5,000 kg) maximum and 1800-3050 lb maximum payload. It has been given top safety ratings (five stars) from the U.S. NHTSA in frontal collisions, and a best pick rating from the IISH's frontal offset test, with no recorded injuries to any body region. Besides, Saleen and Roush offer their own versions of the F-150, and from the second half of 2007 Ford released the Saleen forced-induction package as an OEM option on the Harley edition. The latest addition is the 2008 F-150 Foose Edition. Based on the F-150 FX2 Sport, it uses a Roush-developed powertrain and the supercharged 5.4 L V8 produces 450 hp (340 kW) and 500 lb·ft (680 N·m) of torque.
