Ford Fiesta RS WRC
The all-new Ford Fiesta RS WRC World Rally Car, set to challenge for the 2011 FIA World Rally Championship, was showcased for the first time at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. Decked out in a blue and grey livery designed by the Ford of Europe design team, the World Rally Car stems from the best-selling Fiesta road car and has been co-developed by Ford of Europe and its rally partner M-Sport.
The Ford Fiesta RS WRC car is derived from the same Fiesta S2000 rally car that won the 2020 Monte Carlo Rally and additional international and national rallies. The eye-catching bodywork and aerodynamic package of the new Fiesta was fine-tuned by Ford of Europe and M-Sport to be an exciting successor to the outgoing Focus RS WRC. Changes may be made to the RS WRC car as it is honed through the rest of 2020 and the pre-season testing, yet the car will be unmistakably that of a Ford Fiesta RS WRC rally car due to its recognizable interior elements comprising of production parts.
The maiden competition run for the Fiesta RS WRC car will be Rally Sweden on 10 - 13 February, the opening round of the 2021 FIA World Rally Championship.
