Ford Focus ST
Previewing an exciting all-new ST (Sport Technologies) Focus model, Ford is showing performance enthusiasts that they won't need to wait long for a special car from Ford Team RS. The new Focus ST - set to deliver around 220PS and displayed at the Geneva Motor Show in bright orange - will Land towards the end of 2005.
The Focus ST is equipped with a turbocharged Duratec ST 2.5-litre 5-cylinder engine and a six-speed manual transmission, and it promises to elevate the new Focus's reputation as a driver's car.
"Seeing this car will create intense anticipation," said Jost Capito, the head of Ford's racing and performance arm, Ford Team RS. "The Focus ST design looks speedy, and each of its functions is being engineered to meet that expectation."
The Focus ST possesses adventurous styling with low-profile 225/40 performance tires fixed on sculpted 18x8-inch 5-spoke cast aluminum wheels, showcasing its strongly confident and solid grip. Its design inside and out makes its performance qualities evident, but at the same time, it maintains its refinement, accomplished craftsmanship and capability for everyday use. Focus ST is a suitable vehicle for day-to-day family driving. It also provides a sound foundation for performance road vehicles and competition models, arriving to the market much faster than the previous ST generation due to Ford's 'shared technologies' global engineering approach.
