Ford Focus ST500
Ford have brought out a limited edition version of the renowned Focus ST performance vehicle. Known as the Focus ST500, this special edition is priced at £20,495 and will only be available to 500 customers in the UK.
The Focus ST500 is modelled on the high-end Focus ST3 with some exclusive modifications. It boasts a metallic black colour scheme and has racing stripes in silver on the hood, roof and sides, replicating the iconic Ford GT40's livery after its 1-2-3 win at Le Mans in 1966.
The Focus ST500's 20-valve five-cylinder Duratec 2.5 engine is capable of producing 225PS at 6,100rpm and 320Nm of torque at just 1,600rpm. It has been praised by both the media and car enthusiasts since its introduction in 2005, and with over 13,500 sales, the Focus ST is the most sought-after performance hatchback in the UK. This is in no small part thanks to the success of the Focus RS WRC – Ford winning the 2006 WRC manufacturer's title, and currently leading the 2007 World Rally Championship.
The Focus ST500 has a few other added features that set it apart too, such as red leather Recaro sports seats, ST500 badging, automatic Xenon headlamps, auto-dimming mirror, rain-sensing wipers and a solar-reflect windscreen.
