Ford Focus TDCi 5door [EU]

The all-new Mk 2 Ford Focus made its debut at the 2004 Paris Motor Show, offering three and five-door hatchbacks and a station wagon. Before its official launch, the 4-door saloon form, known as the Focus Concept, had been unveiled at the Beijing Motor Show earlier in the year. Design and engineering The Focus Mk 2, codenamed C307, has been developed using Ford's "Global Shared Technologies" platform that is also used for other models such as the Volvo S40, V50, C70, Mazda3 and Focus C-MAX. While the basic suspension design remains similar to its predecessor, the Mk 2 features a 10% stiffer bodyshell, which Ford claims results in improved handling and ride quality. The saloon version of the vehicle was only released mid-2005. The addition of extra length, width and height mean that the interior and boot space of the Mk 2 has been significantly increased compared to its predecessor. It also has some cutting-edge features such as KeyFree, solar-reflect windshield, adaptive front lighting, Bluetooth and voice control for audio, telephone and climate control. Transmission options include the 6-speed manual Durashift, 4-speed automatic Durashift and the all-new Durashift advanced manual. The Mk 2 Ford Focus certainly takes after the Mondeo and Fiesta in terms of its styling, also incorporating design elements from the B-Proposal, which had originally been developed for the Mk 1 Focus.
