The 2010 model year brings an all-new hybrid model to the Ford Fusion lineup. This second-generation Ford hybrid model joins the current Ford Escape and Mercury Mariner Hybrids, expanding Ford's hybrid fleet to include cars and SUVs in their offering.
"Our goal is to provide technology solutions that offer better fuel economy for millions of consumers," said Derrick Kuzak, Ford Group Vice President, Global Product Development. "The new Fusion Hybrid and Mercury Milan Hybrid feature a powertrain system that balances the gasoline engine and electric battery-driven motors, giving customers the best driving experience along with excellent fuel efficiency."
Ford Hybrid team has specifically designed their propulsion system to allow for a smoother and more efficient shift between gas and electric power, as well as to achieve higher speeds when running on battery power. "We are confident that our new hybrids will exceed expectations in all areas; fuel efficiency, comfort, convenience, and driving pleasure," Kuzak said.
