Ford GT 66 Heritage Edition
The 2017 Ford GT is available in an exquisite limited-edition Heritage version, designed to honor the Ford GT40 Mark II driven to victory by Bruce McLaren and Chris Amon at Le Mans in 1966. This special car boasts a unique exterior and interior color theme with an exclusively finished wheel.
"Celebrating the anniversary of Ford's iconic Le Mans wins has been part of the return of the Ford GT," said Raj Nair, Ford executive vice president, product development and chief technical officer. "The 2017 Ford GT '66 Heritage Edition is a breathtaking tribute to the car that began Ford's successful Le Mans streak in 1966."
The Ford GT '66 Heritage Edition features a Shadow Black matte or gloss exterior with silver stripes and carbon fiber elements. A Frozen White #2 hood and door graphics and 20-inch one-piece forged aluminum wheels in gold satin clearcoat with black lug nuts provide a stylish finish. Inside, the model is dressed in Ebony leather upholstery, Quinn comfort pillows, and plow-through stitching on the Ford GT carbon-fiber seats. Additionally, the head restraints of the seats and the steering wheel bear the Ford GT logo. The gold instrument panel appliqués accentuate the car's modern interpretation of the 1966 racing car, while the blue-webbed seat belts and a unique serialized identification plate finish the look.
Garen Nicoghosian, exterior design manager for the Ford GT, discussed his team's work: "We set out to highlight where it all started with the Ford GT and, while keeping the aesthetic of the GT40 Mark II race car in mind, we accentuated new styling cues to create a contemporary vehicle."
