Ford GTX1 Roadster 2005 posters

Ford GTX1 Roadster

Inspired by the 1966 Sebring-winning Ford GTX1 roadster, Ford SVT engineering supervisor Kip Ewing revealed his own take on the legendary race car during the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show on Nov. 1, 2005. He determined to create the Ford GTX1 roadster after finishing the design and engineering sketches on his own time. Utilizing the Ford SEMA Technology Initiative, Ewing was able to make his dream a reality. The initiative, which began in 1999, provides three-dimensional CAD data to aftermarket companies interested in manufacturing parts and accessories for Ford and Lincoln Mercury vehicles. As part of the initiatives to promote the vehicles to SEMA members, Ford also grants support to selected vehicles to be built at the SEMA show each year, of which the Ford GTX1 was one. The Ford GTX1 project conjoins Ford design, engineering ingenuity, Ewing's creative spirit, and the speed and capability of the aftermarket. Enthusiasts can have access to a one-of-a-kind roadster that provides world-class performance, a flexible roof system for open air driving, and exclusive exterior styling.
