Ford Ka 2003 posters

Ford SteetKa UK Winter Edition with Hard Top

In 2003, Ford expanded the Ka range by introducing the SportKa. It featured a sporty body kit, wider track with stiffened suspension, and redesigned 16" alloy wheels. The front and rear bumpers were wider, and both featured integral fog lamps. They also launched the StreetKa convertible, with the help of pop singer Kylie Minogue. In 2005, all Ka models including Sportka and Streetka got a refreshed interior, while still keeping the original look and feel. The StreetKa and SportKa now boasted a powerful 1.6L 8-valve Duratec engine that produced 95 hp, while Ka, Ka Collection and LuxuryKa retained the 1.3L Endura E engine. The StreetKa has been dubbed as "the poor man's Audi TT" because of its similar design. Yet, it is a popular choice among hair stylists. According to a 2005 survey by UK-based insurance company "Diamond", the StreetKa was three times more likely to be driven by a hairdresser than any other profession. Sadly, the StreetKa will be phased out in 2006.
