Ford intends to continues the expansion of its SUV whatsoever in Europe, with the upcoming EcoSport as an entry to the mini-SUV segment and the Edge, a large and opulent crossover that is flourishing in the North American and several other markets. Ford has estimated that at least 1 million SUVs will be sold in Europe in the coming 6 years while 10% of all Ford vehicles purchased in Europe in 2016 will be 265SUVs. In only 7 years, since the first generation of Kuga was launched in Europe in 2008, Ford has already sold over 300,000 units.
