Ford Mad Max Concept 2011 posters

Ford Mad Max Concept

Ford Australia and TopGear Australia magazine have presented two incredible, 21st century Mad Max Interceptor concepts. The original Mad Max movie starring Mel Gibson and a black Ford XB coupe-based Interceptor was released over three decades ago. Ford Australia's Research Centre and Melbourne-based Asia, Pacific and Australia Design Director, Chris Svensson, were thrilled to be involved with the project and organized a private screening of the movie for their team. Two concepts were selected by the magazine to be featured in the April issue, showcasing imaginative body design, power sources, and weaponry. TopGear Australia magazine's readers will have the opportunity cast their vote and decide which concept should be taken to the next level. The winning design will be singly crafted into a clay model and further into a scale version, to be revealed later this year. Designed by Nima Nourian and Simon Brook, the concepts include innovative features such as industrial-strength tasers mounted to the bonnet, titanium body shells for police scanners, and wheels with extendable spikes. Nourian's design maintained the essence of the classic 1970s Interceptor while Brook's concept blended the appearance of the current FG Falcon and retro Interceptor.
