Ford Mondeo ST TDCi
The Ford Mondeo ST TDCi was the second generation model of the iconic Ford Mondeo. Launched in October 2000, this Mondeo was noticeably bigger than its predecessor and benefited from enhanced features, such as Prodigy concept car styling and a longer wheelbase, which improved rear lefroom. Additionally, the new Duratorq diesel engine was added to the car's capabilities. The basic chassis and suspension design was carried over from the original model which helped to maintain the Mondeo's reputation for outstanding handling and an exceptional ride.
In the North American market, the Mondeo replaced the Ford Contour and was sold from 2001 to 2007, before it was substituted by the Ford Fusion. The Fusion and the Ford Five Hundred/Taurus featured many similarities in style both inside and out. Compared to its contemporaries, Ford paid more attention to the ST TDCi's interior, employing a 'Germanic' design to set it apart from the rest. Updated trim levels were also added in 2003 to meet customer preferences. These trim levels ranged from the basic LX, to the more advanced Titanium, Titanium X, and ST220 and beyond.
