Ford Mondeo Wagon Concept

At the 2006 Paris Motor Show, Ford of Europe unveiled the all-new Ford Mondeo in its wagon bodystyle which came to signify the brand's flagship model. The new-look Mondeo will launch across Europe from the second quarter of 2007. John Fleming, President and CEO of Ford of Europe, remarked on the significance of the Mondeo: “The Ford Mondeo has always been a major player in the European CD segment, and with over four million owners looking for us to deliver something special, we have every intention of meeting their significant expectations with this all-new model.” The seventh generation Mondeo builds upon the success of the Ford S-MAX and Ford Galaxy models, with a focus on delivering customer comfort, space, and premium features at an affordable price. The new Mondeo has been crafted using Ford's 'Shared Technologies' initiative, meaning that its architecture and technology are shared with S-MAX and Galaxy. Through a € 715 million investment, Ford's Genk plant in Belgium has been modernised and transformed into a world-class, flexible manufacturing facility where common architectures and technologies are utilised on S-MAX, new Galaxy and new Mondeo assembly lines.
