Ford Mustang Shelby GT-350H

The 1965-1966 Ford Mustang Shelby GT-350H models were the smallest and lightest of the GT 350 series. These cars are also referred to as "Cobras", due to the similarity of the Ford-powered AC-based two-seat sports car produced by Shelby American at the same time. Both use the same Cobra emblem and paint scheme, while many of the GT350s have optional "Cobra" valve covers as a marketing tie-in. All 1965-1966 vehicles have the K-Code 271 hp (202 kW; 275 PS) 289 cubic inch (4.7L) engine, that was modified to produce 306 hp (228 kW; 310 PS). This engine was called the "Cobra hi-riser" because of its high-riser intake manifold. The 1965 G.T. 350 was not intended to be a comfortable or easy ride. 34 "G.T. 350R" were built for race competitions that corresponded to SCCA rules. This model was also the B-Production champion for three years. In 1966 more luxury was added for casual drivers that included rear seats, colors, and an automatic transmission. In subsequent years, more features were added but that resulted in the cars becoming bigger, heavier, and more comfortable, decreasing the competitiveness of the car. By 1969 Carroll Shelby was no longer part of the program and the design was done solely by Ford.
