Ford Mustang Convertible

For 1994, the Mustang had its first major redesign in 15 years, based on the "Fox" platform with dramatically different styling. This brought increased popularity to the brand with two engine options; a 3.8 L V6 producing 145 hp (108 kW) and a GT equipped with a 4.9 L V8 producing 215 horsepower. The successful Cobra model returned with its GT-40 5.0 L engine producing 240 hp (179 kW). Also, this Mustang Cobra Convertible was selected to be the Pace Car for that year's Indianapolis 500, with 1,000 replica models being built and sold through select dealers. In 1996, the Mustang GT replaced its 5.0L V8 with the 4.6 L SOHC "Modular" V8 producing 215 hp (160 kW). The Cobra was also updated with a high-revving 305 hp (227 kW) dual overhead cam version of the 4.6L V8. The 3.8 L V6 was bumped up to 150 hp (112 kW).The 4.6 L V8 power was increased to 225 hp (168 kW) in 1998, with the 'Sports' package including a black stripe on the hood and wheel wells. That same year was the last of the 'Round Body' Mustang.
