Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Convertible
The Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, redesigned for the 2010 model year, has inherited the most powerful engine and highest level of refinement yet seen in a Ford SVT-tuned performance Mustang. Created through the collaboration of the Ford and Shelby Automobiles teams, the Mustang Shelby GT500 produces power, handling, and braking results that could only be expected of a Shelby.
A nod to the 1960s Shelby Cobras, the 2010 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 features improved design elements both inside and out. Ford's Special Vehicle Team took the performance gains they achieved on the Shelby GT500KR, celebrating its 40th anniversary, and built on these to make the newest Mustang model even better.
"The 2010 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 demonstrates Ford's continuing commitment to high-performance vehicles," said Derrick Kuzak, Ford group vice president, Global Product Development. "In addition to the numerous performance and refinement improvements inside and out, the 2010 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 is an estimated 2 miles per gallon more fuel efficient on the highway."
