Ford Mustang FR500C
The Ford Mustang FR500C is an exceptional sports car that is powered by a 5.0L "Cammer R50" engine delivering a substantial 420 hp (313 kW). It includes components such as a Tremec T56 6-speed transmission, Grand Am-spec rollcage and other race-spec parts. This Mustang is allowed to be used in the Grand Am Grand Sport (GS) Class.
Two ways to get the FR500C are available - as a turnkey costing $125,000 or by modding an existing Mustang GT with specific parts from Ford Racing. Additionally, it earned the nickname "Boy Racer" from Ford executives.
This model was victorious in the Koni Challenge racing series in both 2005 and 2008, only after the install of rearend gear adjustments and additional weights were made in order to reduce the power of the car.
