Ford Mustang Fastback with Cammer Engine

Ford Racing Performance Parts (FRPP) engineered something special to show at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show this year: a 1965 Mustang 2+2 powered by a modern 5.0-liter, four-valve "Cammer" crate engine producing 420 horsepower. This engine was designed to demonstrate that a powerful V-8 can fit perfectly in the engine bay of America's original pony car. It also illustrates the potential of FRPP's "Cammer" offering. The FRPP team chose a vintage Mustang not only for its classic style, but because it is popular with car enthusiasts - many of whom are likely customers. Thus, when they introduced the 5.0L "Cammer" at the SEMA show last year, there were some devoted hot rod enthusiasts who didn't want to use a modern, electronic fuel injection system. In response, the Mustang "Cammer" contains a classic downdraft carburetor with four two-barrel Webers, plus a custom Ford Racing intake and an MSD distributor ignition system.
