Ford Mustang Shelby GT500

The Shelby GT 350 and GT 500 underwent a significant redesign for the 1969 model year, with the body growing by four inches longer. Ford had a major influence on the design and style, though Carroll Shelby had relatively little input. The GT 350 received a 351 cubic-inch V8 engine, while the GT 500 packed a powerful carburetor edited with an "ed" tag. For the 1970 model year, there was no production of the Shelby GT 350 and 500 models. However, Ford - under FBI supervision - re-VIN'd the unsold 1969 models and made some cosmetic changes: adding a chin spoiler and two black hood stripes. On top of these aesthetics, the GT 500 had the carburetor and distributor modified, while the GT350 simply had the distributor changed. Ultimately, a total of 789 were re-VIN'd.
