Ford Mustang SVT Cobra Convertible 2004 posters

Ford Mustang SVT Cobra Convertible

The 2004 Cobra model of the SVT Mustang retained much of the features of its predecessor model, the 2003 Cobra. Updates included a slightly updated exhaust system and potential increases in horse power in comparison to 2003 models. Plus, with the newly integrated shift light, the costly $1,000 gas guzzler tax was removed. The addition of Sirius satellite radio was a standard feature throughout the 2004 Ford lineup.

The 2004 Mustang Cobra was created between November of 2003 and March of 2004. This short production length occurred due to Ford's plan to stop production of the Mustang in the original Dearborn Assembly plant in Michigan as opposed to updating it for the 2005 model line up. This then pushed production of the 2005 model up for the new Flat Rock Assembly Plant in Michigan, also known as AutoAlliance International.

Paint and Interior Trim

The exterior paint colors of the 2004 Cobra included the following colors: Redfire Clearcoat Metallic, Oxford White Clearcoat, Mineral Gray Clearcoat Metallic, Screaming Yellow Clearcoat, Torch Red Clearcoat, Sonic Blue Clearcoat Metallic, Competition Orange Clearcoat Metallic and Dark Shadow Gray Clearcoat Metallic. Dark Charcoal Nudo leather bolsters with Dark Charcoal or Medium Graphite suede inserts were the interior upholstery options. Medium Parchment suede inserts were no longer offered for this model. On all Cobra convertibles, the canvas convertible top was only available in black regardless of seat insert material or color.
